Storytelling for Data Analysts
Two x 2.5 hours Virtual Instructor Led sessions
Data is all around us. We are all striving to use data in order to make sense of the world around us, find connections and make informed decisions. How we communicate the data is deemed to be one of the key skills needed today in order to convince, influence and inspire for business success. Data itself does not do it. We have all been recipients of presentations crammed with charts and spreadsheets that leave us no wiser and fail to deliver the message in a succinct and powerful way.
Data needs the storyteller in you to bring out the meaning out of it!
Storytelling for Data Analysts is an immersive programme for data analysts, leaders in the financial world to learn and practice storytelling skills, tools and language, which they can apply immediately in the way they communicate data and the way they present data, in a range of contexts from a face to face conversation, to a one page recommendation, a report or a Powerpoint presentation.
The training is designed as a two x 2.5 hours hands-on experiential virtual Workshop. It is delivered via webex, lync, or any other platform that your organisation uses.
The workshop is structured to take participants on a journey of using story structures, tools and techniques to draw insights from the data, synthesise the evidence-based point of view, explore techniques which make the charts and visuals captivating, communicate data with confidence in order to bring meaning out of data.
This programme is based on years of experience at one of the world’s leading storytellers, the BBC, research insights from The Future of Work Consortium on the importance of storytelling skills in leadership and talent development, and the practice of the Human Centred Approach to help people design their future with confidence.
The Academy of Design Thinking is an IOEE (Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs) Academy. All its courses award certificates that are recognised in UK and abroad.
Participants will be able to see improvement in their performance and take away a framework and tools they can practice on how to communicate data for influence and inspiration in their business context. The maximum number of participants is 6.
